Pontypool Care Worker, Laura Tovey recently helped one of our service users to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday by accompanying her to an afternoon tea at the local church.
Laura described the lady in question as very excited to be going to the event. Laura kindly bought the service user a raffle ticket and they had a wonderful afternoon tea together over a chat and even some singing.
After a lovely afternoon the raffle was drawn and our service user won a prize, a china teacup with a photo of the Queen on it, Laura said “she was overjoyed, and couldn’t wait to have a cup of tea out of the new cup”.
Laura said after the event, “I had a fantastic opportunity from the company and really enjoyed making a positive impact on one of service users, I hope this will be a memory she will treasure as much as me”.
Nicola Jayne, Regional Director said, “This effort by Laura is typical of the great work carried out by carers on a daily basis and a greater recognition needs to be given to such effort. We are all very proud of Laura.”
